A Moxie Movement was founded in Abilene, Texas in November 2016. At the time, Christina Martinez (2nd year) & Jamie Morgan (3rd year) wanted to create a club that would address the campus culture on consent and Title IX. A Moxie Movement was created. A Moxie Movement has always been, at its core, an intersectional feminist organization. With the guidance of a sociology, a business and a political science professor (yes, all women!!), AMM, held & attended rallies, led weekly meetings on self - awareness and political crash courses, hosted dialogue sessions and served around their community. Because AMM relies heavily on grassroots support, the organization ended May 2018 due to lack of support and activists. Look around and explore our story and who we are now and how it has shaped us to our 2020 re-launch.

Mission:
To empower, educate, and engage with our communities locally. Provide a local guide to education/resources that are accessible and affordable. Cultivate a creative and socially aware community.
2020 Re-Launch
As an intersectional feminist organization, we believe it is within our mission and values to respond to our current events through multiple strategies. I want to give young women an outlet to be empowered by other young women, educated on our political, cultural, societal systems, and engage with our local communities and allies. In August 2020, A Moxie Movement will launch a series of tools for women. The first tool is our guidebook for women to establish AMM in their local area. We also will be releasing our hobo podcast and curriculum. We hope you begin to think about ways you would like to be involved with AMM. We encourage and affirm the diverse experiences and perspectives of all women. We promise to use and provide resources & services that are affordable and accessible. Join me in being involved in our local communities, in support of other women, for the betterment of our selves and our environment.

Now that you know a little bit about us, lets talk about what we can do for you. There are several ways in which A Moxie Movement can be used.
1. The Moxie Report - Our blog space is intended for you to submit your own art form (poetry, paintings, etc.) of your personal experience of being a woman.
2. A Moxie Movement is in need of women and allies that are interested in a leadership position within the organization. If you are interested please look at the "" tab.
3. Our organization is intended to be a tool to provide resource information in order to assist women in reaching self sufficiency and self awareness. Join us by using our data resource, curriculum collection and share it with friends.
4. All Women are needed. We are also looking for mentors. We want to pair up mentors with members that are looking to go into similar career paths or passion interests. Join us by mentoring someone in your field of expertise.
5. Lastly, do it all. If you feel empowered to, start a chapter of A Moxie Movement at your college, job or community. A chapter of AMM is created to better serve diverse communities with grassroots support and leadership. We will provide training, provide you with power points and lesson plans. Every chapter will run and equip women differently.
